Audubon Country Club is one of Louisville's oldest and newest private golf facilities.

In 1908, a visionary Scottish golf course architect dreamed of creating the premier golf club in Kentucky. He selected a rolling, wooded area due south of the Louisville riverfront, and carved out a beautiful, challenging 18-hole championship golf course. Audubon County Club opened a year later, with a Clubhouse constructed in 1909.

When a fire gutted the original Clubhouse in 1916, a new Clubhouse--the basic structure of which is still in use today— was constructed in 1917.

In June, the Club completed a dramatic, multi-million dollar renovation that completely revamped and expanded its member services, hospitality and entertainment areas. A large banquet room has been added to the Clubhouse and the existing ballroom, formal dining room and two lounges have been refurbished and architecturally enhanced. The fitness center and men's and women's locker rooms have been renovated and improved with cherry and maple lockers. An adult grille has been created on the backside of the Clubhouse, and the Men's Grill has been renovated. The Club has also installed its first elevator.

The Club features a full-service pro shop with teaching professionals, practice facilities, clay and hard-court tennis facilities, an oversized swimming pool, and private function areas. Golf and social memberships are available.

The par 72, 6720-yard course is consistently rated among Kentucky's finest by Golf Digest. It features well-bunkered greens and narrow fairways lined with a variety of trees. Water hazards come into play on six holes, including the signature hole, #17, a 197-yard, par 3, requiring a carry over a pond. The ACC has hosted numerous golf championships, including the Kentucky Open, Kentucky Amateur and U.S. Open qualifying rounds. Fairways are Zoysia Grass, with greens of Bent Grass.
